Brazil posts US$7 billion trade surplus in July 2026
In July 2026 Brazil recorded a trade surplus of about US$7 billion, with exports of US$34.1 billion and imports of US$27.1 billion, giving a total trade flow of US$61.2 billion – a 6.8% rise from July 2025. Export growth was 6.2% year‑on‑year and import growth 7.6% year‑on‑year. The agro‑pecuary sector led export gains with a 9.3% increase, driven by soy, while the extractive industry saw a 10.8% rise and the transformation sector recorded a 63% jump in fuel‑related exports. China remained Brazil’s top buyer, accounting for roughly one‑third of July exports (about US$10.7 billion). The United States accounted for 10.7% of exports, down 5% from the previous year, and exports to Argentina fell by US$230 million, a 13.9% decline, amid diplomatic tensions. Year‑to‑date (January‑July) the trade surplus reached US$49 billion.
