Campo Grande urges residents to join national pet‑friendly tourism survey

The municipal government of Campo Grande, Brazil, is encouraging locals to participate in the National Pet‑Friendly Tourism Survey, a study organized by the Ministry of Tourism in partnership with UNESCO. Coordinated by the city’s Secretariat of Environment, Urban Management and Sustainable Tourism (Semades), the questionnaire targets pet owners, public and private managers, and tourism operators such as hotels, restaurants and attractions.

The data will help map the profile and needs of travelers with pets, support the creation of a Manual of Good Practices and a National Guide for Pet‑Friendly Tourism, and guide public policies aimed at strengthening the local tourism sector and economy. Participation is free, voluntary and open until 30 June. Municipal Environment Secretary Ademar Silva Junior said the pet‑friendly trend influences destination choices and that the survey’s results could boost both public policy and private investment in the city’s tourism market.
