Hato Mayor youth receive RD$3 million in zero-interest agricultural loans

The Ministry of Youth and the Banco Agrícola have delivered nearly RD$3 million in zero-interest financing to young producers in Hato Mayor, Dominican Republic. This initiative is part of the new phase of the ‘Campo Joven’ program.

The program is designed to provide capital, training, and technical support to facilitate the development of agricultural projects led by young people. By fostering economic opportunities in rural communities, the initiative aims to encourage a new generation to pursue entrepreneurship and employment within the agricultural sector.

Fernando Lagares, Vice Minister of Entrepreneurship, stated that the Hato Mayor delivery marks the beginning of a series of distributions intended to promote generational renewal in agricultural production and strengthen national food security.
