Campo Largo residents face recurring flooding after heavy rains

Residents of a condominium in the Cercadinho neighborhood of Campo Largo, in the Curitiba metropolitan region, are facing recurring flooding following recent heavy rains. The water rose rapidly, invading several homes and causing significant material damage, including the loss of furniture such as sofas and cabinets.

Local residents report that this is a long-standing issue that has persisted for years. Some inhabitants stated they have been requesting government intervention and filing official protocols for approximately six years. Beyond the immediate flooding, families face the difficult task of cleaning thick mud and residue from their properties.

The City Hall of Campo Largo issued a statement explaining that the flooding is an old problem linked to the environmental protection area of the Rio Ivoete. The municipality noted that the Civil Defense has visited the site to record the situation and continues to monitor the area.
