Campo Maior's Festas do Povo to attract over 400,000 visitors and launch first comprehensive history book

The annual Festas do Povo in Campo Maior, Portugal, will take place from 8 to 16 August. Organisers expect more than 400,000 attendees and have allocated close to two million euros for the event. Over 4,000 volunteers will prepare roughly 50 tonnes of paper to create the colourful paper‑flower decorations that line the historic streets.

A new 108‑page book, "Festas do Povo de Campo Maior – Toda a História," has been published, compiling texts, photographs, and multimedia content about the UNESCO‑listed Intangible Cultural Heritage. The book is available locally and online, with ticket prices set at €8–€10 per day and a €15 pass for the full nine‑day festival.
