Campobasso FC appeals coach suspension following player injury incident
Campobasso FC is appealing a disciplinary ruling following their match against Vado. The club’s coach, Devis Mangia, has received a six-match suspension, while team manager Giacomo Reale has been barred from activity until December 15, 2026.
The sanctions stem from an incident where Mangia confronted the fourth official. Mangia defended his actions, stating he was reacting out of fear for player Christian Celesia, who had lost consciousness after a head injury during the match. The club expressed “strong bitterness” regarding the ruling, arguing that the disciplinary reconstruction failed to fully account for the severity of the medical emergency.
Despite these setbacks, Campobasso is preparing for an upcoming midweek away match against Grosseto. While the team faces squad rotation challenges due to the suspensions and the ongoing recovery of Celesia, the club remains focused on the Serie C fixture.
