Campobasso Mayor plans to expand municipal government to nine assessors

Mayor Marialuisa Forte of Campobasso has announced plans to expand the municipal government by adding a ninth assessor to the current eight-member council. The expansion is expected to take place around the time the 2027 budget is approved.

Forte confirmed that negotiations are currently underway to fill this position. The move has sparked political speculation regarding whether the new appointment will come from the center-right opposition. Such a shift could potentially alter the balance of power within the City Council, as a new assessor from the opposition would be replaced by a substitute candidate who might support the current administration.
