Campobasso officials demand regional action on wild boar presence

The municipal administration of Campobasso is calling for urgent intervention from the regional government to manage the growing wild boar population within urban areas. The demand follows a recent incident in via Garibaldi where a wild boar chased a citizen walking dogs.

Local authorities state that the situation has become uncontrollable, posing risks to public safety and damaging the city's image. While the municipality has attempted to mitigate the issue by addressing waste management practices to reduce food sources, they emphasize that legal competence for wildlife containment rests with the Region.

Officials are urging the regional government to immediately implement previously agreed-upon control and containment measures to ensure citizens can move through the city safely at all hours.
