Campobasso Mayor faces motion of no confidence

The Campobasso City Council is facing political instability following a formal motion of no confidence filed against Mayor Marialuisa Forte. The motion, introduced by Forza Italia group leader Domenico Esposito, requires at least 13 signatures—representing two-fifths of the 32 council members—to proceed to a formal discussion. Esposito and councilor Nicola Cefaratti have already signed the document, placing the responsibility on other center-right groups to decide their stance.

Nicola Lanza of Azione Civile has commented on the motion, urging Mayor Forte to overcome political stagnation and provide a clear direction for the city rather than allowing the administration to drift. He suggested the current crisis could serve as an opportunity for renewal if the majority can establish a functional course of action.

In a separate legislative development, the Council unanimously approved a regulation to establish a Guarantor for the rights of persons with disabilities. Proposed by Councilor Angelo Marcheggiani, the role will be filled by an experienced individual appointed by Mayor Forte to ensure the needs of citizens and third-sector associations are met by local institutions.
