Campoformido to host 2028 Air Cargo Challenge

The Arizona 2001 aeromodelling group has announced that the Campoformido flight field will host the 2028 Air Cargo Challenge. This event is a major international university competition focused on the design and flight of radio-controlled aircraft.

The announcement followed the success of AeroUd, the University of Udine's team, which secured the world title at the 2026 edition held in Stuttgart. Mauro Bordin, President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Council, praised the achievement as a testament to student talent and the quality of the University of Udine, noting that the success stems from rigorous study, design capability, and experimentation.

The 2028 competition is expected to bring numerous international universities and teams to the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
