Italy reports attempted vehicle theft and monument sabotage

Multiple incidents of vandalism and attempted theft have been reported in Italy. In Campomarino Lido, a family of tourists from the Viterbo province discovered their Fiat Punto had been targeted. Criminals broke a window and tampered with the ignition system in an attempt to steal the vehicle, leaving behind a screwdriver. The theft was not completed, and the family reported the incident to the Carabinieri.

In Vicopisano, authorities are investigating what owners describe as the sabotage of a construction site at the Rocca della Verruca monument. Following previous damage in August, a recent inspection revealed that the reinforced iron gate had been blocked from the inside using construction tools, including a pitchfork and a mason's bucket handle, secured with wire. Other damages included broken lights, shattered glass, and tampered masonry.
