Campos, Brazil Begins Contract Signing for New Social Assistance Staff

The municipal government of Campos, Brazil, opened the document‑submission phase for candidates selected in its recent Social Assistance hiring process. From Monday, July 20, through Thursday, July 23, applicants must present required paperwork and undergo medical exams at the Secretariat of Social Assistance and Citizenship on R. Dr. Silvio Bastos Tavares, nº 5, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Attendance is on a first‑come, first‑served basis, with a limit of 59 tokens per day.

The selection covered 236 positions: 80 Social Interviewers, 41 Social Advisors, 79 Higher‑Level Social Workers, and 36 Higher‑Level Psychologists. Ten percent of the slots are reserved for people with disabilities and another ten percent for Black, mixed‑race, Indigenous and quilombola candidates. Salaries are R$ 2,149.00 for medium‑level staff (40‑hour weeks) and R$ 2,627.00 for higher‑level staff (20‑hour weeks). The hiring process fulfills a Management Adjustment Term (TAG) agreed with the State Court of Accounts (TCE‑RJ) to strengthen the city’s social service network.

Selected candidates expressed enthusiasm. Marcela Lanes, hired as a Social Worker, said, “I love working in Social Assistance and am thrilled to return.” New Social Interviewer Dâmarys Cardoso added, “I’m excited to serve the population.” Secretary of Social Assistance Rodrigo Carvalho noted that the document‑delivery stage marks progress in the city’s effort to improve public assistance.
