Campus Bio-Medico inaugurates AI-powered radiotherapy accelerator

The Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico has inaugurated the Adaptive Linac Ethos, a next-generation linear accelerator that utilizes artificial intelligence to adapt radiotherapy treatments in real time. This technology allows for the recalibration of treatment based on the patient's anatomical conditions and tumor evolution detected during the irradiation session itself.

This facility is among the first in Italy and the first hospital in Rome and the Lazio region to implement this specific technology. Managed by the oncology radiotherapy unit under the direction of Sara Ramella, the machine is available to patients through the national health service, serving residents of Rome, Lazio, and central Italy.
