Campus France launches 2026-2027 campaign in Guinea
The 2026-2027 Campus France campaign for students wishing to study in France was officially launched on October 8 at the French Cultural Center in Guinea. Organized by the French Embassy in Guinea and Sierra Leone, the information session aimed to guide prospective candidates through application procedures, including registration, course selection, financing, and visa requirements.
French Ambassador Luc Briard noted that 1,300 Guinean students entered French universities this year, marking the highest number in nearly thirty years. These students are distributed across 271 institutions in cities such as Lille, Marseille, Nantes, and Montpellier. While France remains the primary destination for Guinean students abroad, officials highlighted a significant gap between applications and visas, noting that out of approximately 8,000 applications, only 1,300 students obtained visas.
Dr. Amara Diawara, Director of Campus France Guinea, emphasized the importance of using official channels and warned against the risks of fraud and the use of unofficial intermediaries. The initiative is intended to provide better orientation and support for Guinean youth in their academic pursuits.
