Can Ildırı's Istanbul Real Estate Shop Shot, One Injured

On the evening of 5 August 2026, an unidentified group opened fire on the real‑estate shop owned by Maltepespor president Can Ildırı in the Girne neighbourhood of Maltepe, Istanbul. Five rounds were fired from a motorcycle‑riding suspect, striking an 18‑year‑old employee who was taken to hospital.

The president was not present at the time of the attack. Police have launched a broad investigation, reviewing security‑camera footage and tracking the suspects' escape route. Authorities note that Ildırı has previously received threats and may have had ongoing disputes, which are being examined as part of the case.
