Can Öncü finishes 4th in World Supersport Championship

Turkish motorcycle racer Can Öncü finished the 2026 World Supersport Championship in fourth place overall. Competing for the Pata Yamaha Ten Kate team, Öncü secured fourth place in the season finale held at the Jerez-Angel Nieto Circuit in Spain.

The final race in Jerez was interrupted by red flags with four laps remaining. Following the race, Spanish rider Jeremy Alcoba took first place, followed by Switzerland’s Dominique Aegerter in second and Italy’s Matteo Ferrari in third.

Albert Arenas of the AS BLU CRU team claimed the 2026 championship title with 389 points. Valentin Debise finished second in the standings with 308 points. Another Turkish rider, Bahattin Sofuoğlu, racing for the QJ Motor factory team, completed the final race in 16th place.
