Can Tho hosts 2026 Vietnam-Japan Cultural and Trade Exchange Program
The 2026 Vietnam-Japan Cultural and Trade Exchange Program opened in Can Tho, running from September 11 to 13. Held at Luu Huu Phuoc Park, the event features over 100 booths showcasing products and services from both nations, covering sectors such as agriculture, food, healthcare, tourism, and education.
Can Tho Chairman Truong Canh Tuyen highlighted Japan as a vital partner, noting that the city currently hosts 13 Japanese FDI projects with a total value of approximately $1.655 billion. Export turnover to Japan reached over $142 million in the first eight months of 2026. The program aims to deepen economic ties and strengthen diplomatic connections between the two countries.
Cultural activities include traditional music, martial arts demonstrations, and a charity parade involving approximately 1,000 participants wearing traditional Vietnamese and Japanese attire, such as Ao Dai and Kimono, to promote friendship and support disadvantaged children.
