Can Tho City invests 19 billion VND to renovate two martyr cemeteries
Can Tho City has launched a 19 billion VND project to renovate and upgrade two major martyr cemeteries: the Can Tho City Martyr Cemetery in Cai Rang ward and the O Mon Martyr Cemetery in O Mon ward. The project, managed by the city's Department of Home Affairs, aims to address deteriorating infrastructure and improve the landscape for visitors.
The renovation will cover a total of 6,595 graves. At the O Mon cemetery, officials will renovate the graves and bases of 2,790 martyrs. At the Can Tho City cemetery, which houses 3,805 martyrs, the work includes upgrading grave foundations, front yards, the area surrounding the Ho Chi Minh memorial house, management housing, walkways, and landscaping such as flower beds and lighting.
City Chairman Truong Canh Tuyen emphasized that the project is a matter of gratitude and responsibility toward those who sacrificed for the nation. The construction is expected to be completed within 130 days, creating dignified and clean spaces for relatives and citizens to pay their respects.
