Can Tho launches Food Week to promote regional cuisine

The Can Tho Food Week 2026 officially opened on August 28 at Hau River Park in the Cai Khe ward. Organized by the Can Tho Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center in collaboration with local authorities, the event runs through September 2.

Featuring approximately 100 stalls, the festival showcases a wide variety of local specialties, including folk cakes and products from the Mekong Delta, alongside regional dishes from Central Vietnam, Chinese, and Khmer cuisines. The event includes dedicated spaces such as the 'Tay Do Culinary Space', 'Street Vendor Space', and 'Countryside Market Space'.

According to Nguyen Thi Kieu Duyen, Director of the Can Tho Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, the initiative aims to promote the unique culinary values and tourism image of Can Tho and the Mekong Delta. The long-term goal is to establish 'Tay Do Cuisine' as a signature tourism brand for the city, integrating culinary arts with broader tourism experiences, including OCOP product promotion and photography exhibitions.
