Can Tho to host second Vietnam International Rice Festival

Can Tho, located in the Mekong Delta, will host the second Vietnam International Rice Festival from November 23 to 26. Under the theme ‘Vietnam’s Green Rice: Reaching the World’, the event aims to promote the nation's rice heritage and strengthen its role in global food security.

Organized by the municipal People's Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the festival seeks to foster a more sustainable rice value chain. The event is expected to feature over 500 exhibitors and international delegations. Key activities include exhibitions, competitions, cultural programs, and international seminars.

Specialized displays will showcase the evolution of rice cultivation from traditional methods to modern digital agriculture. Topics of interest include organic rice varieties, the rice-shrimp cultivation system, and a project to develop one million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice. International seminars will also address market expansion, brand creation, and ecological production.
