Canaã dos Carajás council demands action from Águas do Pará over water shortages

The City Council of Canaã dos Carajás has summoned representatives from the utility company Águas do Pará to address persistent water shortages affecting various neighborhoods for several months.

During the meeting, the regional manager of Águas do Pará presented a multi-phase action plan to resolve the issue. The proposed measures include maintaining existing wells to increase flow, conducting studies for new well drilling, and implementing approximately 13 kilometers of new distribution networks. The company also noted it is researching new water catchment sources and stated that investments have been ongoing since the start of its operations in the municipality.

Local council members expressed caution regarding the company's promises, emphasizing their role in defending the population's interests and pledging to continue monitoring the situation to ensure results are achieved.
