Canaã dos Carajás officials demand sanitation improvements from Águas do Pará
The municipal government of Canaã dos Carajás held a meeting with the concessionaire Águas do Pará to address urgent sanitation and water supply issues. Local officials, including Mayor Josemira Gadelha, demanded the accelerated construction of five Sewage Treatment Stations (ETEs) in strategic neighborhoods such as Vale do Canaã and Cidade Nova I.
During the meeting, the administration requested clear timelines for these works and strategies to improve water distribution. Current reports indicate that of six planned new wells, four have been completed and are supplying the Jardim Europa, Jardim América, Novo Horizonte, and Jardim Canaã neighborhoods. The concessionaire has been given 15 days to provide an official response to the demands formalized in the meeting minutes.
