Canada beats Qatar 6-0 in World Cup 2026 group match

Canada defeated Qatar 6-0 in Vancouver during the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, earning its first ever World Cup victory and securing qualification for the round‑of‑32.

Goals came from Kyle Larin (16'), Jonathan David (29', 45+3', 92'), a Saliba strike (64') and an own‑goal (76'), giving Canada a dominant lead throughout the game.

Qatar were reduced to ten men after Al Amin received a red card in the 33rd minute and to nine men after Mangibo was sent off in the 53rd minute. The match was clouded by a serious injury to Canada’s Ismail Koné, who was taken off on a stretcher in the second half.
