Canada border agents seize 380 kg of methamphetamine and cocaine at Coutts crossing
Canada Border Services Agency officers stopped a commercial truck at the Coutts port of entry on the Alberta‑U.S. border on July 2, 2026. Inside moving boxes and a duffel bag the drivers had concealed about 300 kg of methamphetamine and 80 kg of cocaine, misdeclared as bath‑tissue. The truck was headed for the village of Vilna, northeast of Edmonton. Border officers arrested the driver and turned the seized drugs over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. CBSA noted that more than 1,300 kg of methamphetamine and cocaine were seized in Canada last year.
