Canada commits $4 million to boost beef exports
The Canadian government has allocated more than US$4 million under the AgriMarketing Program to support beef export promotion. Canada Beef will receive up to US$3.74 million between 2026 and 2028 to market Canadian beef and veal domestically and abroad, while the Canadian Cattle Association will receive up to US$300,000 for trade advocacy, partnership building and science‑based trade policy work. Agriculture and Agri‑Food Minister Heath MacDonald said the funding aims to raise awareness of Canadian beef in existing markets and explore new destinations. Canada Beef president Eric Bienvenue and CCA president Tyler Fulton said the resources will enable participation in trade missions, identification of export opportunities and representation of producers in international policy discussions. The beef sector contributed roughly US$29 billion to Canada’s GDP in recent years, underscoring the economic significance of the support.
