Canada defeats Brazil 80-37 in wheelchair basketball worlds

The Canadian women's wheelchair basketball team maintained an undefeated record at the world championships following an 80-37 victory over Brazil in Group A action at TD Place in Ottawa.

Arinn Young led the Canadian offense with 23 points, six rebounds, and nine assists. Bench players Cindy Ouellet and Elise Froese contributed 15 points each. Canada improved to a 4-0 tournament record, shooting 56 per cent from the field and forcing 28 turnovers from Brazil.

Geisa Vieira scored eight points for Brazil. Canada is scheduled to conclude the group stage against Great Britain on Tuesday at Carleton University.
