Canada funds AfroMonde Festival in Montréal

The Government of Canada has announced $10,000 in funding for the AfroMonde Festival through Canadian Heritage’s Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program. The announcement was made by Madeleine Chenette, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture, on behalf of Minister Marc Miller.

The AfroMonde Festival, held in Montréal, celebrates Afro-descendant cultural heritage through music, dance, culinary traditions, visual arts, and entrepreneurship. The initiative aims to amplify diverse voices, showcase stories that shape Canada, and support the local economy by providing a platform for Afro-descendant artists and creators.
