Canada names weightlifting and athletics squads for 2026 Commonwealth Games
Canada announced its teams for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, which run from July 23 to August 2. Commonwealth Sport Canada revealed a 13‑member weightlifting squad that includes Olympic champion Maude Charron, returning bronze‑medallist Shad Darsigny and several world‑junior champions. The team aims for eight to nine medals, building on the eight medals won in Birmingham 2022.
Athletics Canada also released a 51‑athlete roster featuring Olympic and world champions such as hammer‑thrower Camryn Rogers, Ethan Katzberg, sprinter Andre De Grasse and decathlete Damian Warner.
