Canada reports multiple fatal road collisions over weekend
Two men were killed in a two‑vehicle crash on Highway 11 near Lumsden, Saskatchewan, on Saturday night. One of the victims was identified as Saskatchewan Roughriders linebacker Jayden Dalke of Leduc, Alberta. Local responders asked the public to respect the families and warned against circulating rumors online.
Separate incidents in Manitoba’s Westman region also claimed the lives of two teenagers. An 18‑year‑old from Dauphin died after his vehicle left Highway 20 and entered a ditch, while a 16‑year‑old riding a dirt bike struck an unmarked guy‑wire near Oak Lake in the rural municipality of Sifton. RCMP officials reminded drivers and riders to follow safety rules and use protective equipment.
Authorities in both provinces urged caution, adherence to traffic regulations, and respect for grieving families.
