Canada reports record surge in antisemitic incidents in 2025, B’nai Brith says 6,800 cases

B’nai Brith Canada released a 2025 report documenting 6,800 antisemitic incidents, the highest number recorded since the organization began tracking such events in 1982, averaging more than 18 incidents per day.

The incidents represent a 9.4% increase over 2024 and a 145.6% rise since 2022, with notable growth in online harassment, vandalism, physical violence and campus hate, especially after the Oct 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel. B’nai Brith Director of Research and Advocacy Richard Robertson described the trend as a national crisis that extends beyond the conflict.

The organization urges a coordinated response to confront hate across streets, schools, workplaces and digital platforms throughout Canada.
