Canada revokes visa of Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Aryeh King

Canada has revoked the entry visa of Aryeh King, the deputy mayor of Jerusalem, according to reports from the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. King had planned to travel to Canada to raise funds for settlement projects.

King is a prominent figure known for his advocacy regarding Israeli settlements in occupied East Jerusalem. He has actively campaigned for the expansion of settlements and has been involved in efforts to displace Palestinians from their homes in areas such as Sheikh Jarrah. Additionally, King has been a vocal critic of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), advocating for the removal of its headquarters in East Jerusalem to make way for Israeli settlements.

The decision follows increased international scrutiny of Israeli policies in the occupied territories. King has attributed the visa cancellation to an Arab campaign against him, citing his opposition to UNRWA and his support for Jewish colonization in East Jerusalem.
