Canada seeks international healthcare professionals to address workforce shortages

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is actively seeking skilled healthcare and social service professionals from around the world to address workforce shortages within the country. The recruitment drive specifically targets qualified individuals such as nurse practitioners, dentists, pharmacists, psychologists, and social workers.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to use official immigration tools and the Canada Job Bank to identify programs that match their qualifications. While the initiative focuses on healthcare, Canada has also identified other priority sectors for skilled international workers, including STEM, skilled trades, defense, cybersecurity, critical minerals, and education.

Qualified professionals must possess the necessary training, credentials, and relevant work experience. Applicants are advised to verify whether their specific occupation is regulated in their intended province or territory, as foreign qualifications may require formal assessment and recognition before employment can begin.
