Canada soccer team debuts Owen Goodman and Luca Petrasso

Canada Men's National Soccer Team head coach Jesse Marsch handed debuts to two new players during a 2-0 victory over Peru in Montréal.

Owen Goodman, a 22-year-old goalkeeper currently on loan at Dundee FC from Crystal Palace, earned his first cap as a starter. Marsch noted that while Maxime Crépeau remains the current number one, Goodman is viewed as a potential successor for future competitions.

Defender Luca Petrasso also made his debut for the national team. The 26-year-old CF Montréal left-back, a former Toronto FC academy graduate, was selected by Marsch to provide depth and quality on the left side of the defense. Marsch indicated that Petrasso had been on the coaching staff's radar due to his consistent performance and profile.
