Canada warns travelers of crime risks in Bahamas, Jamaica and Turks and Caicos

The advisories highlight high rates of petty and violent crime, including robberies and gang‑related violence, especially in areas such as Nassau, Freeport, Kingston, Montego Bay, St. Catherine and Providenciales. Travelers are urged to stay vigilant, avoid isolated locations at night, keep valuables out of sight and follow local authorities’ guidance.

In addition to crime, the warnings note other hazards such as road safety issues, water‑related risks and potential fraud or scams targeting visitors.
