The Canadian senior women's national basketball team defeated Senegal 72-57 in their opening game of the FIBA Olympic pre-qualifying tournament in Guadalajara.

Kayla Alexander led Canada with 16 points and seven rebounds. Syla Swords and Delaney Gibb each contributed 13 points to the victory. Head coach Nell Fortner noted the team's success in rebounding, specifically highlighting their ability to compete against a strong Senegalese rebounding unit.
