Canada women's volleyball beats USA 3-0 in VNL match

Canada’s women’s volleyball team secured a historic 3‑0 sweep of the United States at the FIVB Volleyball Nations League in Quebec City. The Canadians won the sets 25‑22, 25‑22 and 30‑28, coming back from a 20‑14 deficit in the final set to claim their first victory over the Olympic silver‑medalists in the tournament’s history.

Kiera Van Ryk led the scoring with 17 points, while Alexa Gray contributed 14 and Emily Maglio added 13. The win moved Canada to eighth place in the provisional standings, just ahead of the United States, who sit ninth. Canada had lost to Germany in its opening match and will face France in the next round.

Van Ryk praised the home crowd, saying, “It’s beautiful and enjoyable… we finally got the points we needed and felt more confident thanks to the fans.”
