Canada's captain Alphonso Davies sidelined for World Cup clash with Bosnia

Canada coach Jesse Marsch confirmed that captain Alphonso Davies will miss the World Cup group‑stage match against Bosnia and Herzegovina after recovering from a posterior‑thigh injury. An MRI showed positive signs, but the team decided not to risk the player for the upcoming game.

Marsch also mentioned that defender Moïse Bombito, who has been regaining fitness after a leg fracture, could feature against Bosnia. If Bombito does not start, 20‑year‑old Luc de Fougerolles is expected to take his place in the defence. Canada's lineup therefore enters the match without its star left‑back, potentially affecting its rhythm and attacking options.
