Voyageurs supporters group president Rob Notenboom said the atmosphere was "electric" and recalled that "you saw it and felt it everywhere," noting a Vancouver police estimate of 10,000 fans marching before the Qatar match. The group, founded in the mid‑1990s, has helped fund trips and trophies for the national side, and its members now see the country waking up to soccer.

Coach Jesse Marsch described receiving a flood of grassroots messages: "Wherever I’ve been, I’ve gotten tons of emails of people just excited and thanking me…" Forward Alistair Johnston echoed the sentiment, saying the support “fills you with pride because you can see how much it means to them.” The nationwide enthusiasm is seen as a catalyst for youth development and the sport’s growth across Canada.
