Canadian citizen arrested for $43K precious metals theft in Pennsylvania
Kaileigh Hogan, a 25-year-old Canadian citizen from Ontario, has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies following the theft of a FedEx package containing over $43,000 in gold and silver.
The incident occurred on May 11, 2026, in Bensalem Township, Pennsylvania. According to police, Hogan intercepted a delivery, falsely claimed ownership of the package, signed for it, and fled the scene in a rental vehicle. Investigators determined that after the theft, Hogan returned the rental car at Philadelphia International Airport and flew to Arizona.
Following an investigation involving intersection cameras and license plate readers, Bensalem police obtained warrants for forgery, theft by unlawful taking, and theft by deception. Because Hogan was in the U.S. on a visa, authorities alerted U.S. Customs and Border Protection. She was intercepted by federal agents on July 5 while attempting to cross the border into Canada at Lewiston, New York. Hogan was extradited to Pennsylvania in late July, where her bail was set at $1,000,000.
