Canadian culinary competition shows announce new season casts

CBC has announced the cast for the tenth season of ‘The Great Canadian Baking Show’, which is scheduled to premiere on October 4. The competition features ten amateur bakers from various Canadian communities, including participants from Ontario, Alberta, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Saskatchewan. Returning hosts include Alan Shane Lewis and Ann Pornel, while pastry chefs Bruno Feldeisen and Kyla Kennaley will serve as judges.

Separately, CTV has revealed the lineup for the ninth season of ‘MasterChef Canada’, set to air on September 22. The season will feature 16 home cooks competing for a $100,000 prize. The judging panel includes host Mary Berg, chef Hugh Acheson, and chef-restaurateur Craig Wong. The upcoming season includes notable participants such as Vancouver-based filmmaker and DJ Harley Maranan and entrepreneur Hekate.
