Canadian Football Hall of Fame adds Jim Evenson and Frank “Pop” Ivy to 2026 class

The Canadian Football Hall of Fame announced the posthumous induction of running back Jim Evenson and head coach Frank “Pop” Ivy, completing its 2026 class. They join previously announced inductees Brandon Banks, Sean Millington, Charleston Hughes and Calvin Tiggle. The formal ceremony will be held on September 17 in Hamilton, with tickets now on sale.

Evenson played seven seasons with the B.C. Lions (1968‑72) and Ottawa Rough Riders (1973‑74), achieving four 1,000‑yard rushing seasons, 8,207 yards from scrimmage and a Grey Cup victory with Ottawa in 1973. Ivy coached Edmonton from 1954‑57, compiling a 50‑14 regular‑season record and a .781 winning percentage – the highest in league history. He led Edmonton to its first Grey Cup championship in 1954 and recorded a 14‑game regular‑season winning streak, the second‑longest in CFL history. Hall of Fame Executive Director Eric Noivo praised the duo, saying they “add to a distinguished class of gentlemen who each had a tremendous impact on our game.”
