Canadian Forces Snowbirds visit BC Aviation Museum ahead of Victoria airshow

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds arrived at the BC Aviation Museum in North Saanich for the museum’s annual open house on August 2‑3. Visitors can see a fully restored CT‑114 Tutor jet – the original Snowbird 1 – and meet current team members and former pilots during autograph sessions scheduled for August 3. Among the guests is Maj‑Gen. Glen Younghusband, the first Snowbirds team leader in 1971‑72. The event also features a DC‑3, a Canso, a Cessna and a Fleet 2, along with food trucks, vendors, birds of prey and re‑enactments. The Snowbirds will perform a full airshow over Victoria’s Dallas Road on August 4, which may be the last Vancouver Island appearance of the Tutor jets before they retire after the 2026 season. Admission to the museum open house is by donation.
