Canadian homicide suspect captured in Playa del Carmen

A Canadian national identified as Gabriel “N” has been arrested in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, following an international manhunt. The individual was a high-priority target on Canada’s criminal watchlist and was subject to an active extradition warrant for homicide.

The arrest was conducted through an inter-agency operation involving Interpol, the Secretariat of the Navy, the Attorney General’s Office, and the “Centurión” Group of the Secretariat of Citizen Security. The operation took place on 28th Street North in the municipality of Playa del Carmen.

Following his capture, Gabriel “N” was transported via air as part of the extradition process. Authorities noted that while the transfer has occurred, the formal handover to Canadian authorities remains subject to the completion of required legal procedures.
