USA Hockey Announces 47-Player Roster for 2026 World Junior Summer Showcase

USA Hockey has named a 47‑player roster to compete in the 2026 World Junior Summer Showcase, a week‑long evaluation tournament that will run from July 26 to August 1 at the WFCU Centre in Windsor, Ontario. The event features teams from the United States, Canada, Finland and Sweden and serves as a scouting platform for the 2027 IIHF World Junior Championship.

The U.S. squad includes nine first‑round NHL draft selections, highlighted by Seattle Kraken prospect Chase Reid and Nashville Predators prospect Wyatt Cullen. Other drafted players span all 20 NHL clubs. Boston University forwards Carter Amico, Jack Murtagh and defenseman Charlie Trethewey are among the college athletes invited, while a record 13 players from Minnesota make the U.S. list. The roster is split into Team Blue and Team White for the opening games before consolidating into a single U.S. team for the final matches against Sweden and other opponents.

The showcase offers coaches a chance to assess players’ readiness for international competition and to shape line‑ups for the upcoming World Junior Championship slated for December 2026 in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta.
