Canadian Pacific Kansas City ends signals workers' strike
Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) has announced the end of a strike involving approximately 300 signals and communications employees. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Canadian Signals and Communications System Council No. 11 has agreed to enter into binding arbitration to resolve the dispute.
The job action, which began on May 31 following the expiration of the workers' contract, involved employees responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing railway signaling and communications systems across the CPKC network, spanning from Vancouver to Montreal.
Workers are scheduled to return to their duties on Monday morning, August 24, which is expected to stabilize Canadian operations for the rail carrier.
