Canadian Pacific Kansas City sets grain transport records and receives price target adjustment

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) has reported record-breaking grain transportation volumes for September and the third quarter of 2026 across Canada and the United States. In Canada, the company moved 2.94 million metric tonnes (MMT) and 30,324 carloads of grain in September, marking its second consecutive record month. In the United States, CPKC moved 2.51 MMT and 26,236 carloads during the same period. These combined figures set new records for both total carloads and metric tonnes, surpassing previous marks set in 2020.

In financial news, Citigroup analysts adjusted their price target for CPKC from $109.00 to $102.00, while maintaining a “buy” rating. Despite this adjustment, the new target suggests a potential upside of approximately 21.57% from the company’s recent trading price. Other financial institutions have issued varying outlooks, including Wells Fargo, which raised its target to $100.00, and Zacks Research, which upgraded the stock to a “strong-buy” rating.
