Canadian police seize firearms and cocaine in Yellowknife traffic stop
On July 14, 2026, the Yellowknife RCMP stopped a vehicle near Tommy Forrest Ball Park and discovered a loaded handgun, a tactical shotgun, ammunition, more than 50 grams of cocaine and related paraphernalia. The three occupants – Adrian Lockhart of Calgary and Destin Mosquito and Tristan Pritchard of North Battleford – were arrested without incident and charged with multiple firearms and drug offences. The investigation remains ongoing and the men are held in custody pending bail hearings.
Separately, the Winnipeg Police Service completed a ten‑day crackdown on open drug use and trafficking. Police said they interacted with over 100 individuals and made 25 arrests, largely for outstanding warrants or breaches of court orders rather than drug possession. Mayor Scott Gillingham has called for the release of a detailed report on the operation, but the police have not yet provided one.
