Canadian Snowbirds' final CT‑114 air show prompts drone no‑fly zone in Victoria
The Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds will perform their last show in Victoria, British Columbia, on August 4, 2025. NAV Canada and Transport Canada have declared a drone no‑fly zone over the Dallas Road waterfront from 4:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. during the display. Unauthorised drone flights can result in fines of up to $3,000 for individuals and up to $15,000 for corporations, with additional penalties for endangering aircraft or people.
The Canadian government has announced that the iconic CT‑114 Tutor jets will be retired at the end of the 2026 air‑show season. The Snowbirds will pause operations until the early 2030s when the new CT‑157 Siskin II aircraft are expected to replace them. The 2026 Air Show Atlantic in Saint John, New Brunswick, will feature the Snowbirds in their final season alongside vintage aircraft such as a Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, P‑51D Mustang and a de Havilland Mosquito, marking a pivotal moment in Canadian aviation history.
