Olivia Smith wins second consecutive PFA Young Player of the Year award

Canadian striker Olivia Smith has been named the PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. The 22-year-old, who plays for Arsenal, is the first non-English player to win the award twice.

Smith made history as the first female player to be transferred for £1 million when Arsenal acquired her from Liverpool. Following her recent individual accolades, she has been assigned the number 11 shirt at Arsenal for the 2026-27 season.

On the international stage, Canadian women's head coach Casey Stoney expressed a desire to reunite with her squad to field a full-strength lineup, noting that injuries and various circumstances have previously limited her ability to assemble her ideal roster.
