Canadian sports updates: Océanic hockey and Atlético Ottawa soccer

The Océanic hockey team prepares for a demanding November schedule following a competitive October. After defying early season expectations by maintaining fifth place in the general rankings, the team faces eleven upcoming games against opponents with winning records in most instances. Head coach Joël Perrault noted that while the team has improved significantly through free agency and American player acquisitions, management must moderate expectations due to the roster being younger than the league average.

In soccer, Atlético Ottawa has qualified for the Canadian Premier League playoffs. The team is set to face Forge FC at TD Place on November 1. Despite a season marked by coaching changes and roster turnover, players expressed confidence in their preparation under coach Gustavo Leal. The upcoming playoff format features a two-legged series for the top four qualifying teams.
